Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.Sheila was born on March 20, 1947, to William and Doloras (Crimmins) Hendricks in Dubuque, Iowa. She attended Wahlert Catholic High School, class of 1965. Sheila was united in marriage to John V . Walsh on November 24, 1966. She spent most of her career working at Loras College as an executive secretary, deeply impacting the lives of faculty, staff and students.Sheila's greatest joy in life was her family. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her husband, daughters, grandchildren, siblings and friends, cherishing every moment spent together. Sheila was actively involved at Resurrection Church, especially through CEW and Marriage Encounter, where her faith guided her life and actions. Whether through service, friendship, or simple acts of kindness, she found great meaning in supporting her friends, family, and church community. Sheila had a generous heart and a gentle spirit, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her kindness, warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She found special joy in the simple beauty of nature, especially cardinals, which symbolized her faith and God's presence in her life. Sheila will be remembered for her loving nature, unwavering devotion to her family, and the way she made those around her feel cared for and valued.Sheila is survived by her husband, John; children, Kelly (Walsh) Hunt of Rocky River, Ohio, Kim (Monte Pedersen) Walsh of Galena, IL, and Krista (Mike) Weitz of Dubuque, IA; grandchildren, Mackenzie Hunt (Lucas Bihl), Matthew Hunt, Noah Weitz, Catherine Hunt, John Weitz, Maria Hunt, and Maren Pedersen. She is also survived by siblings, Janet (John) Young, Bob (Kathy) Hendricks, and Mary Jo (Jerry), brother-in-law, Bob Cate. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Anna Weitz; son-in-law, Terry Hunt; siblings, Don (Karen) Hendricks, Sharon Cate, and Terry Hendricks; nephews, David Hendricks, Kevin Young, and Chris Young; and niece, Danielle Cate.Sheila's family wishes to extend a special thank you to Drs. Ram, Ringold, and Leubka and their nursing staff for the wonderful care given to Sheila. A special thank you also to the dear friends and family who have offered their support and prayers.
