Sheila Mixon ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Beggs Funeral Home - Apalachee Chapel on Mar. 12, 2026.Sheila Louise Mixon, age 79, passed away March 11, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.She was born June 10, 1947, in Bay Minette, Alabama, a daughter of the late Jake and Jean McGill.She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Curtis Mixon and 4 children. Two daughters, Sharon and Jada and two sons, Joseph and Joshua. Sheila was a sister to Brenda, Melvine, Mace and Tanna. Sheila spent many years as a teacher to children at Emmanual Baptist Church located in Tallahassee and had the pleasure of shaping lives of all ages. She will be greatly missed by all that participated in her life.Funeral services for Sheila will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026 at First Baptist Church of St. Marks. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to services. The burial will take place at 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2026 at Tallahassee National Cemetery.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
