April 2, 1954— March 4, 2026
Anderson, SC
Sheila Hagood Spear was born on April 2, 1954, and passed away in 2026. A proud graduate of Pendleton High School, Class of 1972, she went on to become a licensed cosmetologist in 1985 after attending Anderson College of Beauty Culture. She later became a phlebotomy technician and nurse aide, serving others with compassion, care, and quiet dedication.
A woman of deep faith, Sheila joined New Holly Light Baptist Church and devoted her life to God and her family. In 2005, she answered her calling into the ministry with the Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God. She faithfully served in many capacities, including working with the Young People's Division and singing in the choir. She found great joy in traveling to Florida to attend church services, gospel concerts, and community events, where she shared many cherished moments with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joseph and Glennie Mae Hagood, and her dear niece, Kameko Hagood Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Kesha Kennedy (Rev. John B. Kennedy, III); her granddaughters, Jada Kennedy, Kayla Kennedy, and Tyra Kennedy; her sisters, Vivian Henry (the late Ronald Henry), Jennifer Hill, and Frendessa Brosnahan (Robert Brosnahan); along with a devoted circle of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Her love, faith, and joyful spirit will be remembered and cherished forever.
