Sheila Hodges ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Merkle Funeral Service, Inc. - Dundee on Mar. 10, 2026.Sheila Cecile Edwards was born on November 19, 1957, in Mason, West Virginia. She was one of four children born to the union of Bernard W. Edwards and Patricia (Huddleston) Edwards. She completed her high school diploma and then furthered her education by obtaining her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate. She was employed at Lakin Hospital in West Virginia.Sheila was strong and loving and blessed with the birth of two children. She was extremely proud of the hard work and diligence it took to raise them, helping them both become strong, independent people, just like their mother. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She especially cherished the holidays when everyone gathered together and spent quality time making memories. She was very devoted and absolutely adored her seven grandchildren, often watching them play sports and cheering them on, especially tee ball and wrestling, moments that brought her endless joy. Those who knew Sheila often described her as strong-willed. If she set her mind on something, she found a way to make it happen. Family members affectionately remember her as a bit of a "wild one" - outgoing, stubborn, and sometimes hard-headed, but always full of personality and heart.Though outgoing and lively, Sheila was also somewhat of a homebody. She loved settling in with a good murder mystery, watching scary movies, or enjoying her favorite Lifetime movies. Anyone who knew her well knew she had a special soft spot for an ice-cold Coke.Above all, Sheila's life was defined by the love she had for her family and the joy she found in being together. Her strength, humor, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her.Sheila Cecile Hodges, age 68 of Adrian passed away at Hickman Hospital in Adrian on Saturday; March 7, 2026.
