Born on August 16, 2001, in Hastings, Michigan, she was the daughter of Penny S. Elkins.Shaylee was a cherished wife to her devoted husband, Braden Torres, who stood as the love of her life and her partner in every adventure. Her loving spirit will forever be missed by her mother, Penny (Larry) Elkins, as well as her siblings Shane Holden, Amber Aday (Trevor), Derek Bourdo, Devin Bourdo, Josh Holden, and Devin Holden. She was a beloved granddaughter to Sandi "Mammaw" Elkins, and a treasured niece to JoJo (Scott) Elkins and Brian (Heather) Elkins. The warmth of her presence will also be longed for by her parents-in-law, Sam and Misty Torres, Manny (Brandy) Torres, as well as her brothers-in-law, Tylor and Zack Torres. Shaylee's playful spirit lives on in the memories of her loyal dog, Dooby, and the many extended family members and friends who were fortunate enough to have known her. She was preceded in death by her adored grandpa, Kenny "Pappaw" Elkins.Throughout her life, Shaylee held various jobs, each of which benefited from her remarkable work ethic and creative flair. Her colleagues will remember her as a ray of sunshine who could brighten even the most mundane tasks with her humor and smile.Shaylee was a fantastic artist, expressing her passion through painting. Her talents extended to her work as a makeup artist, where she brought out the beauty in everyone she touched. Family and friends often relied on her skills for weddings and other special occasions. Shaylee had a particular fondness for the family campground at Schnable Lake, where many cherished memories were made.An animal lover at heart, Shaylee's kindness knew no bounds, and she was often found at the center of laughter, whether it was through her silly antics or her ability to be the life of the party. Her love for Morgan Wallen's music was matched only by her enthusiasm for Halloween. Each year, she delighted in dressing up, watching scary movies, and passing out candy, always ensuring that those around her were having as much fun as she was.Shaylee's zest for life shone through in her love for going out to eat, planning family activities, and spending quality time with her beloved husband, Braden. Her spirit was one of joy and celebration, and she embraced every moment with a smile that could light up a room.As we bid farewell to Shaylee Sue Torres, we hold tight to the laughter, the love, and the light she brought into our lives. Her legacy is one of joy, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a bright star that shone all too briefly in our lives.Shaylee's family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2026 from Noon-1:00 PM at the Orangeville Pentecostal Church, where her funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM.
