Shawn King ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Oxford on Mar. 15, 2026.Shawn James KingJuly 16, 1974- March 13, 2026A man of grand gestures and a gentle spirit, Shawn James King lived with fearless energy and loved with an even bigger heart. Shawn passed away at age 51 on March 13, 2026. Shawn grew up a risk taker living life to the full with stories of escapades and adventures! He was a devoted and loving dad where he found his greatest joy and peace.Growing up, if there was an activity that offered a thrill, Shawn was there. He lived for the excitement of the next adventure and his unapologetic love for his country- or as he affectionately called it, "Merica". No 4th of July will ever be the same without his famous, over-the-top fireworks displays that lit up the sky over the lake and brought his family and friends together.Shawn's true passion was in the mountains. A fixture in the ski community, he wasn't just a skier; he was a mentor and coach to many. He spent years working the hills. From the precision of driving a snow cat at Alta to the hard work of the ranch life, he loved out West. He has passed that fire for the mountains down to his daughter, Alli, raising her to share his deep passion for the sport and the community that comes with it.Shawn was known for his tender heart and for his immense generosity and the way he showed up for the people and the animals he loved. His dogs were his constant companions and a massive part of his life's journey. The true North Star of Shawn's life was his daughter, Allisandra (Gator) Casey King. She was his greatest pride and deepest love. He was also the fun-loving, devoted uncle to Macaire, Cuyler (Jaiden), Avery, Chase, Eli (Sophi), Zeke, Isaac, and Bella King. Whether he was teaching them about the outdoors or just being their biggest fan, "Uncle Shawn" was a staple in their lives.Shawn is survived by his daughter, Allisandra; the mother of his daughter, Teresa King; his parents, Jim and Carol King; and his brothers, Craig (Sandy) King and Jeff (Amy) King. His family leans on their strong faith during this difficult time, finding comfort in God's grace and the promise of a reunion where there is no more pain- only peace. We imagine Shawn is now on the ultimate adventure, where the powder is always fresh, the fireworks never end and his spirit is finally free.In Lieu of Flowers and to honor Shawn's deepest devotion to his daughter, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a college fund being established for Alli.Donations can be made via GoFundMe (see link below)Celebration of Life Ceremony:Pine Knob Ski Resort- Pinery Room7778 Sashabaw Rd, Clarkston, MI 48348.Saturday March 21st, 202610:30-11:30am- Visitation11:30-12:15pm- Ceremony12:30-4pm- Lunch and Sharing Open HouseLunch will be provided with Cash BarTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
