Sharon Ruth Scearce, age 82, formerly of Loyal, Wisconsin, died on March 10, 2026, at the home of her daughter near Stanley, Wisconsin, after a period of declining health with congestive heart failure.
Born on March 22, 1943, in Elida, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ralph and Esther (Good) Diller. On October 19, 1963, she married Keith Scearce in Johnsville, Ohio, and together they made their home in Wisconsin. The couple shared 55 years of marriage until Keith’s death in November 2018. Sharon was a longtime member of the Owen Mennonite Church in Owen, Wisconsin.
She is survived by her eight children: Ethan and Joanna (Landis) Scearce of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pennsylvania; Aaron and Rebekah (Amstutz) Scearce of Gleason, Wisconsin; Faith and Noah Hursh of Stanley, Wisconsin; Philip and Joanne (Smith) Scearce of Conrath, Wisconsin; Jason and Mildred (Hoover) Scearce of Sunbury, Pennsylvania; Lydia and Jason Zimmerman of Flat Rock, Indiana; Esther and David Hursh of Loyal, Wisconsin; and Peter and Deborah (Martin) Scearce of Belle Rive, Illinois. She is also survived by 61 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, her sister Cleora and Eugene Campbell of Flat Gap, Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Keith, her parents, a granddaughter Jalena Hursh, a grandson Harold Scearce, a great-grandson JaRon Scearce, and her sisters Carolyn Hofer and Darlene Mast.
