July 6, 1946— March 14, 2026
Marshfield, WI
Sharon Kay Schiszik, 79, of Marshfield, formerly of Spencer, passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family while under the compassionate care of Compassus Hospice.
Born on July 6, 1946, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, to Ervin and Maybelle (Briesch) Kollmansberger, Sharon grew up in the Greenwood area and graduated from Greenwood High School. Those who knew her from an early age remembered her warm heart, strong work ethic, and the natural way she made others feel welcome.
In July of 1972, Sharon married Alan Griepentrog at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. Though their marriage later ended, they remained friends and shared the joy of raising their family. On April 14, 1984, she married the love of her life, James “Jim” Schiszik, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer. Together they blended their families and spent more than forty years building a life rooted in partnership, laughter, and deep devotion.
Sharon worked for many years at Land O’ Lakes in Spencer, where she formed lasting friendships and later enjoyed reconnecting with former coworkers through the Land O’ Lakes Coffee Club. A faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshfield, she found comfort in her faith and church community. She had a creative spirit and loved attending card-making classes, crafting beautiful handmade Christmas cards treasured by family and friends. She was also skilled in crochet, creating thoughtful pieces for loved ones. Sharon enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors, and especially cherished camping with Jim at their site on Lake DuBay. At home, she shared a special bond with her beloved cats, Reggie and Rugby.
Above all, Sharon treasured her family. She delighted in watching her grandchildren grow and was a proud and familiar presence in the stands at their sporting events. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Schiszik; her sons, Ryan (De Ann) Griepentrog of Spencer, Mike (Heidi) Schiszik of Elk Mound, and Ryan (Gayle) Schiszik of Plover; her grandchildren, Dyllan (Sierra) Griepentrog, Danika Griepentrog, Joe Schiszik, Jason Schiszik, Dru Schiszik, and Ellie Schiszik; and her siblings, Butch (Myrium) Kollmansberger of Chetek, Patty Behrens of Marshfield, Arlyn (Kathy) Kollmansberger of Spencer, and Scott (Linda) Kollmansberger of Marshfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Maybelle Kollmansberger; her in-laws, Earl and Iris Schiszik; her son, Corey Griepentrog; her brother, Dennis Kollmansberger; and her sister, Kimberly Tate.
