Sharon Kay Murphy, born on October 14, 1952, in Sutton, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, in Dille, surrounded by her loving family. She was a dedicated and compassionate individual whose life was marked by a deep commitment to helping others.Sharon devoted fifteen years of her professional career to trauma services at Summa Health Systems, where her dedication and care made a lasting impact on many lives. Her compassionate nature and willingness to assist those in need were evident not only in her work but throughout all facets of her life. After completing her formal education, Sharon continued to enrich her knowledge by taking several college classes, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning.Sharon attended the Big Union Baptist Church, she was a woman of faith who found strength and comfort in her spiritual community. Beyond her professional and spiritual pursuits, she enjoyed a variety of interests that reflected her creative spirit and love of life. Her hobbies included crafts, reading, cooking, baking, decorating cakes, and attending theatre, all of which brought her joy and allowed her to express her artistic talents.Sharon is survived by her daughter, Nikki Hinchee, and her sister, Elaine (Bud) Corpe. She also leaves behind dear grandchildren and great grandchildren: Victoria Smith of Akron, Ohio, Spencer Nichols and Luke Nichols of Akron, Ohio; Wesley Smith of Ravenna, Ohio, and Carter Styron-Smith of Florida, as well as many other family members, coworkers and friends. These family members carry forward her legacy of kindness and dedication.She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Doy Murphy and Hattie Lorene Ashley Murphy, her sister Phyliss Barr, and her grandson Anthony Zurava, several grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The memory of those who have passed remains intertwined with Sharon's own story, a testament to the enduring bonds of family.Sharon Kay Murphy's life was one of service, learning, and creative expression. She will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to helping others leave a lasting imprint on the hearts of her family, friends, and community.Sharon's wishes for cremation will be honored.
