Sharon Kay Lowry

Sharon Kay Lowry, 81, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Born on August 21, 1944, to Josephine and Virgil Day, Sharon lived a life marked by dedication to her family and her community.

She worked for 32 years at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center and for five years at Hindle Bowl. Those who knew her remember her steady presence and the care she brought to her responsibilities.

Sharon is survived by her children, John E. Lowry, Josephine K. Lowry, Jacqueline S. (Jason E.) Heim, and James C. (Dawn M.) Lowry; her grandchildren, Sarah J. Lowry, Edward M. Lowry, Angelea M. Parks-Shelton, Zachary T. Miller, Alexander C. Lowry, Kameron B. Lowry, Solomon E. Lowry, Sean A. Rott, and Seralin G. Rott; and her sister, Doris Lyng. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Lowry; her sisters, Joann Vaught, Mary Kirby, and Charlene Cloud; her brother, Ernest Day; and her parents, Josephine and Virgil Day.
