Sharon Kay Dear Vandiver

Sharon Kay Dear Vandiver of Nederland, Texas, passed away on March 9, 2026, at the age of 74. She was a woman of remarkable strength, grit, and resilience, yet those qualities were beautifully balanced by a playful silliness that brought laughter to everyone around her. Sharon’s deep love for her family was evident in every part of her life, especially in the special place she held in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She carried a lifelong curiosity about faith, and in her later years found a fuller commitment to Christ through baptism.

She is survived by her sons Jeromy, Justin and his wife Christie, Jarred and his wife Ashley, and Christian; her granddaughters Kaylee and her fiancé Ryan, Kylie, and Christina; her grandsons Montana, Branson and his wife Abby, and Rylan; her sister Lori and brother-in-law Gary Graham, Jr.; her great-grandchildren Aiden, Carter, Asher, Koen, and Midnight; her nieces Natalie and her husband Todd, Carrie, and nephew Robert and his wife Annie; and many great-nieces and great-nephews who were all touched by her care.

A gathering to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held this Saturday, March 14th, at 1:30 p.m. in Heritage Hall at the First Baptist Church of Groves.
