Sharon K. Tranel, 74, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born on November 18, 1951, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, to Francis and Ella (Fry) Unbehaun, she graduated from Cuba City High School and remained a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. On May 5, 2005, she married Delbert “Del” J. Tranel at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City.
Sharon worked for more than 17 years at The Market House Tavern in Galena, Illinois, and for 17 years at the Belmont Travel Center. She found joy in making quilts, crocheting, working puzzles, and taking trips to the Wisconsin Dells, but she treasured most the time spent with her family and friends. Those who knew her will remember her gentle spirit and the warmth she brought to every gathering.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Del; six step-children, Steve (Melissa) Tranel of Cuba City, Tim (Rhonda) Tranel of Dubuque, Iowa, Chris (Kari) Tranel of Blue Mounds, Randy Tranel of Middleton, Gail (Tim) Pitzen of Cuba City, and Amy (Jason) Recob of De Pere; 16 step-grandchildren; and six siblings, Mary (Frank) Blahnik of Cuba City, Roy (Linda) Unbehaun of Lime Ridge, Carol (Don) Brown of Lanark, Illinois, Steve (Chris) Unbehaun and Robert (Debbie) Unbehaun, both of Shullsburg, and Joan (Dick) Peck of Ohio, along with many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Jerry (Jenny) Unbehaun, Dennis (Ruth) Unbehaun, and Jean (Pat) Horkan; a daughter-in-law, Dana Odegaard; a niece, Kelly Peck; and a nephew, Brian Brown.
