Sharon K. Chantland, 83, of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt.
Sharon was born December 9, 1942 to Jens and Karen Andersen. She grew up in the Humboldt area and was united in marriage to Dennis Davis in 1959. The couple had two sons, Jeff and Jim. Dennis tragically passed away in 1962 and Sharon moved the boys to Boone where she was employed as a nurse. They returned to Humboldt and Sharon worked for a time at The Wagon Wheel. She married Kermit Chantland in October of 1971 and they raised the boys in Humboldt. Following Kermit’s retirement, the couple wintered in Texas for many years where they enjoyed golfing. Sharon loved the Green Bay Packers, enjoyed reading and in later years making greeting cards.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Kathy) Davis of Humboldt and Jim (Kallie) Davis of Rutland, her grandchildren; Justin (Jennifer) Davis, Lindsay (Aaron) Samuelson, Tyler Davis, Jordan (Lexi) Davis, Christopher Davis, Brittni (Indio) Davis-Balderrama, Ian Decker, Jacob Reimers and Rachel Wederquist, Justine (Tony) Stone and KyLee (Tyler) Fischer and twenty-six great-grandchildren. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Kermit.
Private Family Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 21st at Indian Mound Cemetery in Humboldt. Visitation for the public will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
