November 26, 1957 March 10, 2026

Brandon, VT

Sharon Glaser, 68, passed away at home in Brandon, Vermont, surrounded by her family on March 10, 2026, after a long battle with a rare cancer.

Born on November 26, 1957, to Bernice and William Simelunas, Sharon was raised in Glen Rock, New Jersey. She graduated from Mansfield College in Pennsylvania with a degree in Home Economics. In 1982, she married Sam Glaser, and the couple moved to Montclair, New Jersey, where they spent 26 years raising their daughter, Shelby.

Deeply creative, ambitious, and endlessly energetic, Sharon brought remarkable attention to detail to everything she did, whether as a business owner, employee, or friend. She ran a successful gift basket business known for its personal touch, never forgetting a birthday or missing an opportunity to celebrate those she loved. Her collection of cards and correspondence spanning decades stood as a testament to the many meaningful connections she maintained throughout her life. She formed a close circle of lifelong friends through her temple in New Jersey, affectionately known as “The Jersey Girls,” who remained a steadfast source of support even after she and Sam moved to Vermont in 2007.

Though initially tentative about the move, Sharon soon thrived in her new home. She began as a Guest Services representative at Killington ski resort and was quickly promoted to Guest Services Manager, earning repeated recognition for her dedication and exceptional service. Even though she never skied, she loved her work and approached each day with enthusiasm, becoming a beloved presence among guests, staff, and management. A natural problem solver, she was known for confidently declaring, “I know what to do,” and usually did. In the off-season, she and Sam transformed a dilapidated little red barn in Middlebury into The Barn Antiques, operating it successfully for 16 years. The shop became a favorite destination for loyal customers who came not only for the thoughtfully curated displays but also for the pleasure of her company. Sharon took great pride in her home, where her talents for crafting, organizing, and gardening brought beauty and order to every space she touched.

She will be remembered as an extraordinary woman who lived with confidence, determination, and an ever-present sense of purpose. Sharon is survived by her husband, Sam, and her daughter, Shelby, of Brandon, Vermont; her mother, Bernice, her brother, William, and her sister, Donna, all of Hobe Sound, Florida.
