Sharon Denise Blakeley

Sharon Denise Blakeley passed away on March 8, 2026, after a long and difficult struggle with mental illness. Born in Austin, Texas on January 18, 1957 to Johnnye Ashton Blakeley and Major Roy J. Blakeley, she graduated from Rotan High School in 1975. She went on to earn both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Education from Southwest Texas State University and taught for a time in the Dallas Independent School District.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Major Roy J. Blakeley, her mother, Johnnye Ashton Blakeley, her niece Lori Ann Blakeley, and her nephew John Payton Camp. She is survived by her sister, Karen Blakeley Gallini of Tyler, and her brother, Larry Blakeley of Waxahachie, Texas.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date to remember and celebrate her life.
