Sharon Buff

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Sharon Buff of Hickory, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Sharon left this world on March 7, 2026 at the age of 70, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Allen Smith and Mary Catherine Smith; and her husband Carroll Dean Buff. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Holman (Buddy), Dean Buff and Nicole Hicks; her siblings, Darlene Story (Ronald), Diane Franklin (Glen), Terrie Swanson (Randy), Pam Murphy (Phil), Allen Smith and Byron Smith (Osha); her grandchildren, Tracy Lominac, Matthew Holman, Lisa Hoyle, Ashley Green, Joseph Hicks and Gemma Hicks; and her great grandchildren, Luke Conrad, Adrian Conrad, Jeremy Hoyle, Isaac Holman, Caleb Hoyle, Lincoln Holman and Sydney Lominac.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM at the Startown First Baptist Church (2615 Sigmon Dairy Rd, Newton, NC 28658). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Startown First Baptist Church.
