Sharon Bourland

Sharon Bourland passed away unexpectedly at her home on March 9. Though she lived a quiet and private life, the kindness she showed to both people and animals left a lasting mark on those around her.

Sharon was a humble soul who never sought attention and found joy in life’s simple moments. She gave generously without expectation of return and preferred to let her birthday pass unnoticed rather than have any fuss made over her. Her gentle nature was most evident in her deep compassion for animals. Neighborhood birds, squirrels, and stray creatures always found their way to her yard, where they received food and quiet care. For Sharon, looking after them was never a duty but simply part of who she was.

Her home was shared with the companions she cherished: a cockatoo and two Amazon parrots, who brought life and conversation to her days. To Sharon, animals were never merely pets; they were dear friends and family, receiving the same devoted, understated love that defined her entire life.

She is survived by her brother, Harold (Vesta) Cassie, and her sister, Patricia (Rick) Cray. Sharon will be remembered as a gentle and compassionate soul whose quiet kindness made the world a softer place for every creature fortunate enough to cross her path.
