Sharon Barrett

Sharon Barrett, 52, cherished daughter of Neil (Esther Trepal) Barrett and Deborah (nee Recko) Barrett, beloved sister of Steven Barrett, and very close friend of Charles “Charlie” Vanderhoof, passed away in 2025.

Born on April 24, 1973, in Cleveland, Ohio, Sharon graduated from Euclid High School before earning her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ohio University. She had a lifelong passion for travel and live music, attending the New Orleans Jazz Fest each year. A proud Dead Head, she maintained a wide circle of like-minded friends who shared her love of music. Though complex in spirit, she lived a simple life centered on the things she held dear: music, books, jigsaw puzzles, and her beloved dog, Althea. She was easily recognized by her T-shirts, jeans, and hobo bag.

Those who knew Sharon were struck by her intelligence, warm laughter, and sweet disposition. Her kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to spend time with her, whether for an afternoon or a lifetime. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
