Sharon Anderson, 81, of Seymour, passed away on March 9, 2026 at her home. She was born on July 29, 1944 in Marion County, Indiana to the late William C. and Avo (Tinsley) Robertson.
A 1962 graduate of Martinsville High School, Sharon worked at First National Bank for many years, retiring as Vice President. She possessed a servant’s heart and remained deeply devoted to her faith. A longtime member of Whitaker Baptist Church, she taught Bible classes through her church and the American Baptist Association, served as past president of Lydia Circle, and spoke at numerous churches. She and her husband Donald also participated in mission trips to Hawaii and Asheville, North Carolina, and she volunteered with Hospice and counseling centers. Sharon cherished her family and was known for her keen ability to find the best deals at Goodwill.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Richard Anderson, whom she married on December 2, 1961; her children, Anthony Richard “Tony” Anderson, Donald Keith Anderson (Marcia Ann), and Michelle Jane Grossman; her siblings, Robin Sublette, Nick Robertson, Darrell Robertson, William “Buck” Robertson, Emily Bowling, Dawn Kinser, and Rochelle “Roxie” Bush; her brother-in-law, Larry Anderson (Mary); grandchildren, Jessica Cathey, Ericka Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Elijah Anderson, and Ashlee Peterson; and great-grandchildren, Harley Cathey, Preston Cathey, Wyatt Cathey, Donald “Donnie” Anderson, Grace Anderson, and Adrianna Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Karen Baker and Edna Jo “Joan” Stierwalt. Sharon will be laid to rest at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery.
