Shannon Fry ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Cemetery, Crematory - Gig Harbor on Mar. 17, 2026.Shannon Michelle Fry, 44, of Gig Harbor, WA, passed away on March 13, 2026 surrounded by friends and family.Shannon was born on August 25, 1981 to Michael and Janice Fry in Puyallup, WA. After graduating from Lakes High School in 2000, she went on to study architecture at Philadelphia University. She left in 2002 due to medical reasons which spurred her interest in pharmacy. She then attended Western Washington University from 2002-2005 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude. Afterwards, she attended University of Washington School of Pharmacy and graduated with her doctor of pharmacy in 2009.After graduating, she completed her post-graduate residency training at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA in 2010. She stayed in this healthcare system for many years afterwards, first working as a pharmacist at St. Francis Hospital, then as the critical care specialist back at St. Joe's for 10 years, then as a night shift pharmacist back at St. Francis. Most recently, she was the clinical pharmacy manager for Providence St. Peter's Hospital in Olympia, WA. Throughout her career, Shannon provided exceptional care to her patients, and mentored countless pharmacists along the way-many who later became herfriends.Shannon met her husband, Joshua Miller, in 2008 and later went on to marry him in 2014 in Happy Valley, OR. During their time together, they shared their love with a couple of sweet dogs-Zeva, and later their senior dog Fi. They spent a lot of time with friends, doing activities like beer festivals, escape rooms, and game nights. They also were able to travel around the world, including trips to Greece, Iceland, Portugal, New Zealand, and Patagonia.Shannon was predeceased by Walter and Lillian (Thibodeau) Normandin and Wallace and Pauline (Paulson) Schmitt. She is survived by her husband Joshua Miller, her parents Michael and Janice Fry, her sister Melissa (Fry) Cook, her brother-in-law James Cook, and nephew Andrew and niece NicoleTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
