Shadrick Neil Smith

Shadrick Neil Smith, known affectionately as Shad Daddy, of Mouth Card, Kentucky, passed away at his home on March 9, 2026, at the age of 40. Born in Pike County, he was the son of Jackie Dale Smith of Mouth Card and Eugenia Colleen Abshire Adkins of Pikeville. A lifelong resident of Pike County and a man of Christian faith, Shadrick found joy in drag racing, riding four-wheelers, fishing, playing music on his guitar, and spending time with his beloved dog. He worked as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dallas and Alice Kay Smith, his maternal grandfather, Eugene Abshire, and his uncle, Michael Smith.

Shadrick is survived by his mother, Eugenia Colleen Abshire Adkins of Pikeville; his father, Jackie Dale Smith of Mouth Card; his maternal grandmother, Kathlyn Abshire of Feds Creek; his brother, Nicholas Kyle Adkins of Pikeville; aunts who were like sisters to him, Loretta Smith of Feds Creek and Susan Gail Smith of Grapevine; uncles Kenneth Smith and Dallas Smith, both of Feds Creek; aunts Carla Abshire of Ohio and Staci Watson of Feds Creek; and dear friends Cody Harrison and Dwayne “Insane” Bishop, along with many others who held him close. He will be remembered for his spirited love of life and the warmth he brought to those around him.
