Selby Boyd Herald, 81, of Falmouth, Massachusetts, died on March 5, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Donna M. (Ruggles) Herald, with whom he shared 24 years of marriage.
Born on October 16, 1944, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Selby Herald and Jesse (Forward) Herald, Selby grew up and attended school in Somerville. He began working at a young age and built a long career as a warehouseman in the food service industry, spending 20 years at Star Market and later working for Guaranteed Fresh Produce. Known as a dedicated and hard-working man, he took pride in providing for his family.
In his free time, Selby found joy in simple pleasures, including tending his yard and garden. A 50-year resident of Falmouth, he loved spending time at the beach and, above all, cherished moments with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and papa who especially delighted in the company of his ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Herald of Falmouth; his brother, David Herald of Dallas, Texas; his children, Megan D’Andrea and her husband Joseph D’Andrea of Norwell, Bryan Herald and his fiancée Jeni Fernandez, Sarah Herald of Falmouth, Lauren Kitchell of Plymouth, Jennifer Huntington and her partner Jesus Santos of Falmouth, Scott Huntington of Boston, and Ashley Eldredge and her husband Robert Eldredge of Yarmouth; his grandchildren, Jackson D’Andrea, Devin D’Andrea, Mason Santos, Trent Luiz and his fiancée Becca McGuire, Harrison Eldredge, Bethany Ross and her partner John Ross, Matthew Kitchell, Katie Kitchell, Madison Veloza, and Charlotte Ellia; and his great-grandchild, Rowen Ross.
