He is the beloved husband of Donna M. (Ruggles) Herald, with whom he shared 24 wonderful years of marriage.Selby was born on October 16, 1944, in Cambridge, MA to parents Selby Herald and Jesse (Forward) Herald. He grew up and attended schools in Somerville, MA. Selby joined the workforce at an early age and enjoyed a long career as a Warehouseman in the food service industry. He spent 20 years working for Star Market, and most recently working for Guaranteed Fresh Produce. He was a hard worker and proudly provided for his family.When Selby wasn't at work he enjoyed the simple things. He liked working in his yard and gardening. He was a 50-year resident of Falmouth, and like many on the Cape he enjoyed spending time at the beach. More than anything, Selby enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. He was a loving husband, father, and papa – he will be sorely missed.Selby is survived by his wife, Donna Herald, of Falmouth, MA; his brother David Herald, of Dallas, TX; his children Megan D'Andrea, and her husband Joseph D'Andrea, of Norwell, MA, Bryan Herald, and his finance Jeni Fernandez, Sarah Herald, of Falmouth, MA, Lauren Kitchell, of Plymouth, MA, Jennifer Huntington, and her partner Jesus Santos, of Falmouth, MA, Scott Huntington, of Boston, MA, and Ashley Eldredge, and her husband Robert Eldredge, of Yarmouth, MA. His grandchildren Jackson D'Andrea, Devin D'Andrea, Mason Santos, Trent Luiz and his fiancé Becca McGuire, Harrison Eldredge, Bethany Ross and her partner John Ross, Matthew Kitchell, Katie Kitchell, Madison Veloza, and Charlotte Ellia; and his great grandchild Rowen RossA visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, with a service to follow at 2:00 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 74 Algonquin Ave. (RTE 151), in Mashpee.Read The Full ObituaryTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
