Sean Scott Shields

Sean Scott Shields, age 55, of Weymouth, Massachusetts, passed away in Boston on March 6, 2026. Born on May 9, 1970, in Miami, Florida, he grew up in Rockland, Massachusetts, where he attended Rockland High School and played basketball and softball. He continued playing in local softball leagues for years afterward.

Sean spent most of his life in the landscaping business, eventually running his own company, Shields Landscape and Handyman Co. He found great joy in the outdoors, camping, hiking, sports, music, and attending concerts. A devoted fan of all New England sports teams, he loved going to games. He also enjoyed cooking and hosting lively cookouts for friends and family. His quick wit, playful sense of humor, and ability to make others laugh were among the qualities that endeared him to everyone who knew him. He held a special place in his heart for his grandmother, Nanny, and cherished the memory of his childhood dog, Missy, an Airedale Terrier.

Above all, Sean was a loving father whose daughters, Malia and Kiara, were his pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with them and took immense pride in the young women they became. He is survived by his mother, Donna Shields, and her partner, Bob Allen, of Rockland; his former spouse, Dorene Doo of Brockton; his daughters, Malia Shields of Quincy and Kiara Shields of Brockton; his best friends, Steve Azar of Weymouth and Ed Steele of Quincy; his beloved dog, Niko; two aunts, two uncles, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Shields of Oakland, California; his grandmother, Barbara Hart of Punta Gorda, Florida; and his aunt, Valerie Murphy of Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Sean’s warm spirit and ready laughter will live on in everyone who loved him. He will be deeply missed.
