Scottie Alexander Johnson, 66, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away on March 8, 2026, at Duke University Hospital after a brief illness. Born on June 11, 1959, in Durham County, he was the beloved son of Maggie J. Farrar and the late Arthur Lee. A graduate of Northern High School, Scottie was a longtime member of the Durham Rescue Mission Church and spent his career as a skilled brick mason.
He shared a loving marriage with Sabrina Tucker Johnson, and together they raised five children. Scottie was a devoted family man and an avid sports fan, especially of the Philadelphia Eagles. He will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, his craft, and his community.
Scottie is survived by his mother, Maggie Johnson Farrar; his wife, Sabrina T. Johnson; his children, Alexandria Rene'e Tucker, Deshawn Courtney Thorpe, Scottie Johnson Jr., Stacy Tucker, and Adrian Johnson; nine grandchildren, Angel Destiny Tucker, Jaynia Nikeya Tucker, Keilijah Makayla Johnson, Amena Annette Olds, Wesley Rayfield Olds III, Amir Sharron Tucker, Kaiden Hakeem Johnson, and James Joseph Dubois; four great-grandchildren, Ja'Liyah Destiny Tucker, Scott Anthony Lynch Jr., Karson Lee Tucker, and Isreal Hakeem Tucker; and his siblings, Jeffery L. Franklin, Norman C. Farror Jr., Rod Farror, and Ricardo Farror, along with aunts Josette Mack and Elaine Tate and a host of other relatives and friends.
