January 1, 1956— March 10, 2026
Denison, IA
Scott James Woolridge was born on January 1, 1956, in Ida Grove, Iowa, the son of Richard and Florence (Gemmill) Woolridge. Baptized at the Methodist Church in Ida Grove, he graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1974 and attended Northwestern College for two years.
On September 1, 2006, Scott married Karla (Schultz) Bohlmann in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. He lived in Ida Grove for fifty years and gave generously of his time to his community, serving thirteen years with the ambulance service and seventeen years with the fire department. He worked at Gemmill Electric and Midwest Industries for seventeen years, spent a decade with the Iowa State Patrol District 4 office in Denison, and later worked in the meat department at Hy-Vee before becoming a driver for Eventide, where he remained until his retirement in 2018.
An avid Oklahoma Sooners football fan, Scott was known for his deep Christian faith and his love of people. He made friends easily, was quick with humor and wit, and could match nearly any situation with an appropriate song. He enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and helping with construction projects at church alongside his friend Chuck.
