Scott Russell Gibson, age 70, of Indiana, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Scott built a life centered on service, learning, and family. He proudly served in the United States Navy, with stations in San Diego, California and Bethesda, Maryland.

Scott devoted much of his career to caring for others, working as a registered nurse for nearly 20 years. He served for many years as Director of the Pechan Health Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania before becoming Director of the Indiana Ambulatory Surgery Center. After retirement, he assisted at his son’s business, 1-2-3 Lock and Key. A lifelong learner, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Arts degree, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration.

Outside his professional life, Scott gave generously to his community. He supported the Boy Scouts of America for many years, serving as Scoutmaster and guiding all three of his sons as they achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He also operated a CPR training center, where he trained thousands of people in life-saving skills.

Scott’s greatest joy was his family. He was a loving husband to his wife, Michele, and a proud father to Katy, Andrew (Lindsay), Benjamin (Camilo), and Noah (Raiya). He especially cherished his role as “Pop Pop” to his beloved grandson, Wesley. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce (Nancy). Scott will be remembered for his dedication to helping others, his commitment to education and service, and the deep love he had for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
