Scott Warren Maxwell, born September 25, 1970, in Woodbury, Connecticut, passed away on March 6, 2026.Scott spent his early years in Woodbury, CT before setting out to explore the world. During a gap year, he traveled throughout Europe performing with Up With People, an experience that reflected his adventurous spirit and love of connecting with others. An avid world traveler, Scott continued exploring throughout his life, always eager to experience new places, cultures, and people. He actually traveled to six of the seven continents.After college, Scott moved to the North Carolina before eventually making his home in Sierra Madre, California. It was in Southern California where Scott married the love of his life, Hillary Zoe Maxwell. Together they built a life rooted in community, friendship, and shared purpose. Scott embraced the spirit of Sierra Madre and became actively involved with the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association (SMRFA) and Sierra Madre Events Committee (SMEC), helping support and organize beloved community traditions, including the city's beloved Fourth of July Parade. Scott enjoyed life's simple pleasures as well - sharing a fine bourbon with friends and spending time with his beloved cats, Oliver and Alice.Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Barry and Suellen Maxwell. He is survived by his devoted wife, Hillary; his parents in-law, Bill and Evelyn Shaffer; his uncle and aunt, Phillip and Barbara Maxwell of Dover, New Hampshire; and his uncle and aunt, Alan and Paula Curtiss of Pensacola, Florida, along with many extended family members, friends, and community members who will remember his warmth, enthusiasm, and commitment to the places and people he loved.Scott will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the GoFundMe supporting Hillary Shaffer Maxwell.Arrangements are under the care of Douglass & Zook Funeral and Cremation Services, Monrovia, CA.
