Lancaster, OH
Scott E. Wills, a devoted family man, dedicated public servant, and cherished member of the Lancaster community, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, after a long illness. Born on December 31, 1951, in Lancaster, Ohio, Scott lived his entire life in the community he loved. He was a proud graduate of Lancaster High School’s Class of 1970 and went on to serve 31 years with the City of Lancaster Gas Department as a construction supervisor. His professionalism and quiet dedication left a lasting mark on both the department and the city he served.
Beyond his work, Scott found great joy in traveling with his wife and family, attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sports events, and cheering for the Ohio State University Football Team, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cincinnati Reds. He also took pleasure in tending to his yard and embracing the simple rhythms of daily life. Above all, he cherished the time spent with those he loved most.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marcy; his son, Chad (Jessie) Wills of Lancaster; his daughters, Erin (Shane) DeJardin of Niagara, Wisconsin, Michele (Stephen) Matchett of Lancaster, and Megan (Ryan Whipps) of Lancaster; his sister, Marty (Bud) Baker of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Madyson, Emma, Brielle, Mia, Evan, Sawer, and Fallon; and three great-grandchildren, Hadyn, McAlister, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Dean and Margaret Ann Wills.
Scott will be remembered for his integrity, his deep love of family, and the steady, kind presence he offered to all who knew him.
