Scott Arlie Thoresen

Scott Arlie Thoresen was an honorable and proud United States Marine Corps Veteran. Proudly serving as a master machine gunner with 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Recognized Rifle Marksman Badge, Southwest Asia Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Mast. Humanitarian Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

Scott will also be remembered as a “God Fearing man,” cherished son, nurturing brother, guiding father, devoted husband, and loyal friend who could keep everyone smiling and laughing. His love was fierce and contagious, and he was genuinely a “Rock” to all of those who loved and knew him.

On February 10th 2026 Scott was unexpectedly set free from his earthly pain and transitioned to his heavenly home.

Scott was born in Everett, WA  August 7, 1970. He was born into a large family and spent his childhood experiencing and creating all of the irreplaceable memories siblings get to endure and share. Helping us shape and grow. Scott will forever be remembered as “the BEST brother!” He was a provider and protector to his family and to all he held dear.

Scott discovered his strong and charismatic leadership gift being on the field playing all the sports he loved throughout his childhood and early adulthood. As a freshman, his hard work, grit, and determination paid off and he made the varsity football team. Playing the game he loved under the lights. He went on to graduate from Everett Highschool with the class of 1989. Immediately after, enlisting with the United States Marines Corps.

After his honorable service to our country; Scott persued and secured a 27 year career with the United States Post Office driving over a million miles. He was recently recognized for his 35 years of service to the United States Government. Further proving his loyalty and commitment to building his legacy and providing for his family.

Throughout his 55 years, Scott’s most precious and proudest memories would be too many to list. Naming a few would be becoming and being a father, watching his son grow into an amazing young man he admittedly was beyond proud of. He loved being outdoors…fishing, camping, traveling, and just admiring the beauty of God’s creations. He enjoyed creating memories which will remind us how, and why we will never forget. Sunsets, sand, and saltwater brought Scott tranquil happiness and peace.

Scott Arlie Thoresen was preceded in death by his grandparents Arlie and Marie Phelps, his parents Carl and Shamra Lomsdalen, and brother and best friend Brian Piercy. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Katie, his most precious son’s Alexander and Mattsen, his siblings Renee and Marvin, Maureen, Brett and Todd, and many cousins, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held to honor the life of our beloved Scott Arlie Thoresen. Details to be announced at a later date.
