Scott Allen Thimmes, age 56, passed away on March 8, 2026 surrounded by family.

Scott was born on October 6, 1969, to Robert and Barbara Thimmes. After the passing of his mother, Nancy Thimmes lovingly stepped in and graciously raised Scott as her own.

Scott graduated from Woodward High School in 1988 and was a dedicated employee of Cornerstone Glass, where he faithfully worked for 34 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and the friendships he built over the years.

Scott treasured time with his family above all else. He shared a special bond with many loved ones and especially enjoyed time spent with Darlene, whom he considered like a sister. Whether it was celebrating holidays together, sailing, or watching football games, those moments meant the world to him.

A devoted sports fan, Scott loved cheering on the Toledo Rockets football and basketball teams. As a longtime season ticket holder, he rarely missed the chance to support the teams he loved at home and away. He was also an avid San Francisco 49ers fan.

Scott also had a deep appreciation for the beauty in everyday life. Through his photography, he captured moments that others might pass by. He especially enjoyed photographing family gatherings, gardens, and airshows, leaving behind images that will forever be cherished.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara Thimmes; his brother, Michael; his niece, Nicole; his Aunt Bonnie Caris; and many other beloved family members.

He is survived by his brother, Charles; his sister, Susan; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nurse Practitioner Andie Schmutz and Dr. Davenport of Toledo Hospital's Emergency Department for their compassion and care. The family would also especially like to thank Scott's Pastor, Jon Komperda, and his church family at Point Place UCC for their support and kindness.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, March 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo. A funeral service will take place Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home.

Scott will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, love of family, and the quiet way he noticed and captured the beauty in the world around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with settling Scott's affairs.
