May 2, 1966— March 13, 2026
Dayton, OH
Scott Allen Stratenberger, born on May 2, 1966, in Dayton, Ohio, quietly passed away in his hometown on March 13, 2026. A man who moved through life with a calm strength and a quietly humorous spirit, Scott touched the hearts of those around him with a big heart that showed his reserved nature.
For over two decades, Scott dedicated himself to his work at The Dayton Forging and Heat Treating Company, where his steadfast presence was a testament to his reliability and sense of purpose. Known among friends and family as low key and chill, he found comfort in the simple pleasures: the thrill of football games, the excitement of sports betting, and the undying love for his dogs that brightened many of his days.
Scott's world was one lived close to home. He was a man who worked hard and cherished the solace of his own quiet space, rarely seeking the spotlight but always present in the lives of those he cared about. His humor, understated but sharp, brought lightness and laughter to those fortunate enough to know him well.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Virginia Stratenberger; his daughter, Jennifer Breeding, and her husband Tyler; his cherished grandchildren Cadence Dawson, Jaylynn Humphrey, and Dakota Waldron; and his brother David Stratenberger. Scott also leaves behind many other relatives and friends who carry forward his memory with affection, including his niece, Latavia Cressel
Scott’s life was marked by the loss of his father, Terry Stratenberger; his brother, Robert Stratenberger; and his nephew, Anthony, all of whom remain held in remembrance.
A gathering of family and friends to honor Scott’s memory will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424.
