Scott A. White

Scott A. White, 68, of Jesup, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026. He was born September 27, 1957, the son of James S. and Donna J. (Wergeland) White. Scott grew up on the family farm near Hardy and graduated from Boone Valley High School, Renwick in 1976. His father was an Iowa Hawkeye fan and Scott took an interest in sports, so he enrolled at the University of Iowa where he traveled with The Iowa Hawkeye Football and Basketball teams while obtaining his degree in sports medicine. Scott worked for a short time out of college in Illinois before accepting a position as the athletic trainer in Jesup, Georgia. The former Iowa resident lived in Wayne County, Georgia the past several years and was recently retired from the Wayne County Board of Education as the athletic trainer. Coach White also known as Doc White was a favorite amongst the athletes, coaches, teachers, students and their families. His gentle spirit of tending to every bump, bruise, scratch, broken bone and tear could be seen on the sidelines or in the dug outs.

Scott is survived by his sister, Cathy Schipull of Humboldt, her children; Lindsay Charon and Christen (Nick) Sewell and their children; Braxton, Hunter, Paisley, Hannah and Emily. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Donna White.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20th with visitation after 10:00 a.m. both at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Hardy.  www.masonlindhart.com
