Saverio D'Angelo

Saverio D'Angelo, 92, of East Hanover, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Gorga, Italy, Saverio left home as a young man to work in Uruguay, supporting his widowed mother and sister. In 1967 he came to the United States and settled in Orange, New Jersey. He later lived in West Orange before making his home in East Hanover in 1987.

A hardworking and dedicated man, Saverio took great pride in providing for his family. He began his career as a skilled carpenter, a trade he continued to practice with pleasure throughout his life. For twenty years prior to retirement he worked as a custodian for the Verona Board of Education. Even in his later years he remained eager to help family members with home projects and repairs, always ready with his knowledge and steady hand.

Above all, Saverio cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He also enjoyed watching game shows and working on projects around the house.

He was predeceased by his parents, Cosimo and Lucia D'Angelo, and by his sister Michelina D'Angelo and her husband Giuseppe.

Saverio is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Maria (Petrullo) D'Angelo; his devoted children, Lucia Cusano and her husband Joseph, Saverio D'Angelo and his wife Lynn, and Carmela Ullman and her husband Andrew; his treasured grandchildren, Heather Colaizzo and her husband Doug, Joseph Cusano and his wife Casey, Michael Cusano, Saverio D'Angelo Jr., Jacob Ullman, Dominic Ullman, and Olivia D'Angelo; and his loving great-grandchildren, Valentina, Francesca, and Bianca Colaizzo. He is also survived by his dear niece, Carmela Gugliucci, as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
