Sara J. Bull (Johnson) passed away on the morning of March 11, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.

Born on the family farm in Friendsville, Pennsylvania, Sara grew up with her two sisters, Betty and Nancy, and two brothers, Bud and Gary. She graduated from Vestal High School before earning her nursing degree from the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing in 1965. That same year she began a remarkable career as a registered nurse, spending more than five decades in the operating rooms of Albany Medical Center and Robert Packer Hospitals. Colleagues remembered her for her exceptional skill, calm demeanor, sharp wit, and unwavering commitment to patient care.

In May 1971, Sara married Amos Bull, a southern gentleman with whom she shared a loving 35-year marriage. Together they raised their family until Amos passed away in 2006. Sara remained the devoted matriarch of their family for the next two decades.

She was predeceased by her husband, Amos; her granddaughter, Alex; her parents, Mildred and Raymond Johnson; her sisters, Betty Golden and Nancy Wage; her brothers, Bud and Gary Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. Sara is survived by her son and daughter, John and Melissa; her grandchildren, Kelsey, Jackson, Aiden, and Ian; her great-grandchild, Isaac; and many nieces and nephews who held special places in her heart. She will be remembered for her strength, her dedication to helping others, and the deep care she showed both her patients and her loved ones.
