Santiago Ancira, affectionately known as Jimmy, passed away on March 10, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on February 18, 1951, in Lamesa, Texas, he lived a life centered on family, hard work, and the simple joys that brought him contentment.
Jimmy spent his career as a railroader and truck driver, finding particular delight in riding his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycles. He cherished long rides on the open road and quiet afternoons on his front porch, savoring the warmth of the sun and breeze. Those who knew him will remember his kind and welcoming spirit, his warm sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone around him feel at ease. He had a special gift for drawing family and friends together, especially during holidays filled with laughter and shared memories.
He is survived by his significant other, Carmen Velez; his children, Dolores Ridgell, Stafanie Ancira, Monica Dixon, and Roxanne Dixon; and his bonus children, Vickie Cruz and Alex Munoz. He also leaves behind his siblings, Rebecca Hodges, David Ancira, Jerry Ancira, Gloria Escobedo, and Sussie Ancira, as well as fifteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bacilio and Dolores Ancira; his children, Santiago Ancira Jr. and Jared Wagner; and his siblings, Moses Ancira, Isaac Ancira, and Bacilio Ancira Jr.
