Sandy was born on June 23, 1939, in Indianapolis, IN, and passed away March 11, 2026. She was known for her ever-present smile and fierce protection of her family. She was a hard worker her whole life, so much so that she didn't finally retire until she was 70. Sandy loved her family, her church life, and also reading and shopping, especially with her sister. She touched many lives as a Sunday School Teacher
Sandy was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Russell R. Graphman, her parents, Clyde T. Hodges Sr. and Caroline M. (Rasner) Hodges, her son, Rusty Shinkle, her brother, Tom Hodges and her beloved sister, Linda M. (Hodges) Gatlin.
She leaves behind her beautiful family; her daughter Melinda K. (Shinkle) Quirke, her grandchildren, Corey (Amy) Giltner, Kyle (Julia) Giltner, Sam (Rachel) Giltner, Michelle Shinkle, Jean Shinkle, 11 great grandchildren and nieces and nephew. Sandy will be remembered for her unconditional love, forgiving spirit, bright smile and her strong faith. She never let difficult times to get her down.
A public viewing will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 11:30am to 12:15pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:15pm. Sandy will be laid to rest on Friday March 20th, 1:30pm at Lincoln Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or the giver's favorite charity.
