Sandy Dean Webb
February 21, 1957— March 5, 2026
Cedar City, UT
Sandy Dean Webb, age 69, passed away on March 5, 2026, at his home in Cedar City, Utah. Born on February 21, 1957, in Heber City, Utah, to Gerald John Webb and Rhea Jean Johnson Webb, he grew up in Charleston, Payson, Utah, and Boulder City, Nevada, graduating from Boulder High School. From a young age, Sandy learned mechanical skills from his father and built a lifelong career as a skilled mechanic, specializing in transmissions after completing numerous technical certifications.
Sandy met Margene Hunsaker in Pocatello, Idaho, in December 1977, and they married on April 2, 1978, in her childhood home in Honeyville, Utah, with her father officiating. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Las Vegas Temple on October 14, 2005. Together they raised three sons, with Sandy lovingly adopting Margene’s young son Nathan shortly after their marriage. The family lived in Pocatello and Chubbuck, Idaho, Boulder City and Las Vegas, Nevada, before settling in Cedar City in 1996.
He found his greatest joy in time spent with Margene and their boys—camping, visiting the lake, riding three- and four-wheelers, and teaching them mechanics in the workshop he built beside their Las Vegas home. He also cherished moments with his mother, brothers, and sisters. In Cedar City, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and Utah Jazz basketball. Sandy took pride in his work as a mechanic for Clark County Sanitation, Bradshaw Chevrolet and Buick, Mountain West Milk Transportation, and Cedar City Corporation, where he advanced to Superintendent over streets and solid waste. He also volunteered with the Division of Youth Corrections and Horizon House, mentoring young people and sharing his life experiences, an effort for which he received awards and certificates from the United States Restorative Justice Committee, the Cedar City City Council, and the Southwest Utah Youth Center.
Sandy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife, Margene; sons Nathan Webb (Keithea) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Joshua Webb (Jenny) of Cedar City, Utah; his mother, Rhea Ziemer of Boulder City, Nevada; brothers Jerry Webb of Las Vegas and Matt Webb (Diana) of Boulder City; sisters Jeanie Gutierrez of Bunkerville, Nevada, twin sister Cindy Belding of Boulder City, and Mindy (Jeff) of Las Vegas; grandson Jaydin James Webb of Las Vegas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gerald (Verda) Webb, two stepfathers Wayne Waters and Bob Ziemer, brother Gary Webb, brother-in-law Sam Gutierrez, niece Misty Neilson, beloved son Shawn Webb, and granddaughter Cali Jo Anne Webb.
