Locust, NJ

Sandra-Lee Mary Christman, affectionately known as Sandi, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on September 3, 1942, in Glens Falls, New York, she was the cherished daughter of the late Jess and Gladys Robbins. Sandi spent her early years in her family’s home on Waackaak Avenue in Keansburg, where she formed lifelong friendships and memories that remained dear to her throughout her life.

She shared a loving marriage of 67 years with Ronald Christman, whom she first met while working at Harold’s Candy Store in Keansburg. Together they settled on Carr Avenue and raised their three daughters, Robin Marie, Lisa Lynne, and Valerie Suzie. In 2005, Sandi and Ronald retired to Locust, where they spent their later years with their daughter Lisa and her family.

Sandi was a licensed beautician, graduating from the Wilfred Academy in Red Bank in 1979 alongside her daughter Robin. She worked at Hair’s What’s Happening and Plaza Unisex Salon, and she also lent her talents to her husband’s business, Ron’s Barber Shop. Known for her warm personality and generous spirit, she was the devoted matriarch of her family, always ready with time, food, advice, and her beloved card readings. She found joy in her younger years at the roller rink, Belvedere Pool, and the Keansburg Boardwalk, where she danced with abandon.

Sandi is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald, and their daughters: Robin Marie Moore and her husband John, Lisa Lynne Canny and her husband Mark, and Valerie Suzie Christman and her wife Debbie Jaeger. She leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Ashley Marie, John Michael, Amanda Leigh, and Mark Ronald. She was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather Frank Orton, and her siblings Connie Gerrity and Jess “Rusty” Robbins. Those who knew and loved her will remember her boundless kindness, generosity, and the light she brought to everyone around her.
