Hayward, WI
Sandra Winifred Sheehan, age 77, of Hayward, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on March 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 12, 1948, in Duluth, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Stanley and Goodrun (Johnson) Laska. She married Donald Wayne Sheehan on February 8, 1969, at First Lutheran Church in Hayward, beginning a devoted union that lasted 57 years.
Sandy worked at several local businesses during her career, most notably at People’s National Bank, where she retired as Assistant Loan Officer. A proud supporter of her husband’s military service, she was a dedicated member of the Hayward VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She cherished life in the Northwoods, taking scenic drives with Donald, tending her beautiful flower beds, and enjoying scrapbooking, card-making, and baking. Above all, Sandy treasured her family and found her greatest joy in the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Sheehan of Hayward; her children, Julie (Billy) Zawistowski of Stone Lake, Jon (Lisa) Sheehan of Stanberry, and Jenny Sheehan of Hayward; her grandchildren, Willy, Annabelle, Alison, Bethany, Jake, Bodie, and Terra; her great-grandson, Elijah; her siblings, Carol Knudson of Hayward, Jim Laska of Minong, Lynn (Matt) Fitch of Hayward, and Lori Suchanek of Madison; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her sister, Chris Sommerville, and her brothers-in-law, Bob Sommerville and Roger Knudson.
