Sandra Mae Riddle Weekes Obituary February 3, 2026 - Legacy.com

Wallingford, CT

Sandra Mae Riddle Weekes of Wallingford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully in New Haven on February 3, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by her sons and loved ones.

Born on July 28, 1940, in Syracuse, New York, Sandy was the daughter of Elizabeth Watrous Riddle and David Riddle. She grew up in Fayetteville, New York, as the eldest of four siblings. A graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, she went on to study at the University of Arizona in Tucson and Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, New York. Throughout her life, Sandy served as the family historian and genealogist, maintaining deep connections to her roots and loved ones.

She was predeceased by her brother, Jeffery Riddle of Fayetteville, New York, and her former husband, Paul Weekes, originally of Manlius, New York. Sandy is survived by her brother Gregory Riddle and his wife Carol of Mohawk, New York, and their daughters Sarah Davis and her son Benjamin, and Molly Riddle; her sister Wendy Riddle and her husband David Brod of Culver City, California; and her sons Justin Weekes of Wallingford, Connecticut, and Jonathan Weekes of Guilford, Connecticut.

For more than six decades, Sandy was a devoted and deeply valued member of the Wallingford community. She worked for twenty years as an administrator in the Yale Department of Neurology, where her professionalism, warmth, and reliability were greatly appreciated. She later served at the Jewish Federation of New Haven and spent two decades as Secretary to the Wallingford Town Council. Beyond her professional roles, she generously contributed her time to the Wallingford Bicentennial celebration, the Wallingford Garden Club, the Wallingford Land Trust, the Wallingford Youth Soccer League, the Parent-Teacher Association as a school librarian, and the AFS international student exchange program at Lyman Hall High School.

Faith and music were central to her life. For sixty years, Sandy was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Wallingford, where she sang in the choir and lovingly hand-lettered presentation pages in Bibles for church members on special occasions. She found joy in line dancing and contra dancing, pursued her lifelong passion for photography, and delighted in gardening, flower arranging, painting, and creating handmade journals, greeting cards, and collages to share with others. Her involvement with the Landmark community reflected her enduring commitment to personal growth and meaningful connection.

Those who knew Sandy will remember her colorful personality, sharp wit, curiosity, creativity, and expressive storytelling. A loyal friend who believed deeply in community, she touched many lives with her kindness. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
