October 20, 1940— March 13, 2026
Green Bay, WI
Sandra “Sandy” Lee (Alsteen) Lindsley, age 85 of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, after living with Alzheimer’s for several years.
Born on October 20, 1940, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Sandy was the daughter of the late Irving and Zenaida (Fierst) Alsteen. She married Tom Lindsley on October 22, 1960, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Together they raised three sons, Jeff, Tim, and Dave, and two daughters, Julie and Jill. Tom preceded her in death in September 2019.
Sandy attended Cathedral Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy. She devoted her early married life to raising their five children, who arrived in just nine years. Once they reached high school, she began a long and fulfilling career as Administrative Assistant at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish, serving more than twenty years and forming deep friendships with the pastors, bishops, and monsignors of the diocese. She and Tom were gracious hosts, welcoming clergy and close friends to their home for holiday dinners and gatherings throughout the years.
An avid reader, Sandy enjoyed romance novels and later discovered the works of James Patterson. Her love of music spanned all generations, yet her greatest joy came from watching her children and especially her grandchildren compete in sporting events, which she and Tom rarely missed. The couple enjoyed many winters in Arizona and memorable trips to the Cayman Islands and Cabo San Lucas. Her grand-puppies also brought her special delight in her later years.
She is survived by her children and their families: son Jeff (Jeanne) Lindsley and his children Casey (Christina) Lindsley and Molly (Jared) DeChamps and their son Jett; son Tim (Chris) Lindsley and their children Jeana, Katie, and Tom; daughter Julie (Gerri Okinski) Lindsley; daughter Jill Jacques (significant other Jeff Rehberg) and her son Carson; and son Dave (Cathy) Lindsley and their children Noah (fiancé Abby Hanmann), Aaron, and Lauren. She was preceded in death by her sister Diane Churches, brother-in-law Sam Churches, and brother-in-law Jim Gevers.
