Sandra Lee Burlock - 81

Austintown Twp. - Sandra "Sandi" Lee Burlock, 81, of Austintown passed away early Sunday morning at Windsor House of Canfield. She had been under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.

Sandra was born February 27, 1945, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Louis and Irene (Sitar) Bobovecz. She was a lifelong resident of Austintown and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, and friend.

Sandra was baptized in the Catholic faith as a child and remained devout throughout her life. She attended St. Stephens Catholic Church and later, she attended services at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church along with her granddaughter.

Sandra worked for the Youngstown Diocese as a housekeeper for the priests and later worked for the Austintown Eagles Club as the kitchen manager. She also served as the president of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.

Sandi was larger than life! She loved her family, neighbors who became family, and friends deeply. Nothing made her happier than spending time with family and friends, especially her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. She loved going to Ocean City, Maryland, with her sisters and their families each summer, where many memories and traditions were created. Details were of the utmost importance to Sandi, and it was certain that she would remember small details with thoughtful gestures. Sandi never forgot a birthday and was always the first to ask what kind of cake you would like from Struther's IGA to celebrate. She took great pride in cleaning anything and everything- "sparkle and shine" was her trademark! A stain didn't exist that couldn't be defeated with her magical laundry secrets. She loved to sew, read (especially Danielle Steele novels), play bingo, garden and landscape, cook traditional dinners, bake with her daughter and sister, camp, share a cup of coffee with her loved ones, and take care of her family and friends. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her time to show love through cooking family recipes and honoring traditions. She especially loved cooking with her mother, sister, and daughter throughout the years.

Her husband, John Burlock Sr., whom she married on August 5, 1963, passed away on September 27, 2015. Sandra leaves to cherish her memory her son, John Burlock Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Boardman; her granddaughter, Nicole Spencer and her husband, Timothy, of Austintown; her beloved great-grandchildren, Lucas and Serena Spencer; and her two loving sisters, Barbara Kralj of Poland and Patricia Jamison of Maryland. She also leaves behind her best friends, Donna Hofus and Barbara Kintz; special friends, Marie Delpine and Randy and Maria Hamady; a host of nieces and nephews in Ohio and Maryland; and her entire N. Roanoke extended family

Besides her parents and her husband, Sandra was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Burlock; her infant daughter, Christine Marie; and her brothers-in-law, Adolf Kralj and David Jamison.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026, and again on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10 to 10:55 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, 4303 Mahoning Avenue, where a service will be held at 11 AM. Private burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Sandra's caring and compassionate end-of-life nurses at Windsor House of Canfield, especially Miriam, Christina, and Carol.

Professional arrangements were entrusted to Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. Family and friends may view obituaries and send condolences by visiting www.higgins-reardon.com.
