Shelby Township, MI
Sandra Lee Britton, born Sandra Lee Coldicott on January 21, 1943, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Frederick Brian Coldicott and Mary Elizabeth Jacobs Coldicott, passed away on March 11, 2026, surrounded by her family.
In 1959, Sandy married the love of her life, Reed Britton. Together they shared 62 years of marriage, raising their five children in Roseville, Michigan. They were true partners in every way, facing life’s joys and challenges side by side until Reed’s passing in 2022. Sandy was the devoted heart of their home, a loving mother whose quiet strength, wisdom, and courage touched everyone around her.
A graduate of Roseville High School, Sandy worked as a bus driver and custodian for the Roseville School District before retiring. She and Reed later spent several happy years in Coker Creek, Tennessee, before returning to Michigan and settling in Shelby Township to be near their children. Sandy found joy in traveling, photography, genealogy, gardening, and sharing meals with loved ones. She was especially known for her legendary apple pie, a cherished staple at every family gathering. Above all, she treasured time spent with family and friends. A woman of deep faith, Sandy maintained a sincere relationship with Jesus, serving as a devoted prayer warrior who showed compassion and love to all she met. She was a faithful member of Clinton Revival Center in Clinton Township and formerly of The River of Life Church in Tellico Plains, Tennessee.
Sandy is survived by her children, David (Michele) Britton, Debra (the late Bob) McCormack, DeeAnn (James) Lynch, and Dina Britton, along with her late son Daniel Britton. She was the beloved Nana to 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Fred Coldicott, her sister Becky (Gary) Obney, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She extended her motherly love to many, who became part of her extended family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Reed, her parents, her twin sister Sally, brothers Glenn and Stephen Bach, son Daniel, son-in-law Bob, grandson Jon Paul, and great-grandson Arthur.
