Sandra Colvard, 73, passed away peacefully March 11th, 2026. She was born May 21st, 1952 in Covington, Kentucky to parents Oscar and Norma (Jamell) Scales.
Sandra moved to Indiana at an early age and graduated from North Central High School in 1970.
Sandra was a hard worker, providing for her family. She worked at the CVS warehouse for many years and retired from CVS in 2009.
In 1999, she married James Colvard, and they share many wonderful years together.
Sandra was a loving, social butterfly. She had a great sense of humor and an ability to make friends with anyone. She adored her family and was elated to become a grandma and great grandma. She was an excellent cook, even worked as caterer and owned a restaurant for a short time. Sandra loved playing games, mostly cards and dominos. She was a master at Euchre, Rummy, “Mexican Train”, and many more.
Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Jeffery (Tabby) Scales, Jennifer (Craig) Sargent, Darlene (Christopher) Nance, and her Step-daughters Mindy Colvard and Lisa Bridges; grandchildren Ashley Drake, Melinda Bridges, Jasmine Cable, Mackenzie Nance, Demetric Andis, Kailey Bridges, Bree Nance, Channing Robinson, Nolan Scales, Hayden Sargent, Cooper Robinson, Sarah Sargent and great grandchildren; Siblings, Ron (Jackie) Scales, Kim (Rod) Fite, Tony Scales; nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Norma Scales; sisters Deborah Scales and Darlene Scales; her husband James Colvard.
Visitation for Sandra will be Wednesday March 18th, at Flanner Buchanan Memorial Park, from 11-1pm. Her funeral will begin at 1pm. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
