Sandra Joy Gillis

Sandra Joy Gillis was born on March 4, 1949, in Alabama, the daughter of the late Barney and Leona Hammock Chambers. On December 7, 1966, she married J. P. Gillis, who passed away on December 24, 2023.

A lifelong woman of faith, Sandra attended church at Spoken Word Ministries in Savannah, Tennessee. She departed this life on March 8, 2026, in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 77.

She is survived by her son, Boyce Gillis of Savannah, Tennessee; her brothers, Barney Chambers of Savannah, Tennessee, and Greg Chambers; her sister, Vickie Ritter of Collinwood, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Kaylee Paul, Maycee Parmely, Abbie Ritter, and William Ritter; and her great-grandchild, Blakely Paul.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandra was preceded in death by her daughter, Veronica Gillis, and her brothers, Butch Chambers, Ralph Chambers, and Mickey Chambers.
