Sandra Crank-Mulkey ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Wallin-Stucky Funeral Home - Oak Harbor on Mar. 17, 2026.Sandra Jeane "Sande" Crank-Mulkey, 88, long-time Oak Harbor resident, died March 12, 2026 in Oak Harbor, WA.Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 9, 1937 to Harold Austin Crank and Mildred Marie (Reynolds) Crank, Sande moved to Dallas, Texas as a teen and was a member of the first graduating class of South Oak Cliff High School in 1955.After high school graduation, Sande attended Texas State College for Women for two years. She later returned to college to complete her education, receiving her bachelor's degree in sociology in 1976 from Connecticut College, New London, Connecticut.In 1984, Sande moved to Oak Harbor and married Donald Mulkey in August 1988. She worked at many local businesses, including the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce and more than a decade at The Greenhouse Nursery and Florist. She retired as Director of Marketing for Regency on Whidbey.In addition, Sande was active in many community affairs, including the Citizen Advisory Board of Island Transit, Habitat for Humanity, CADA, Armed Services YMCA, WAIF, North Whidbey Help House, and the Oak Harbor Senior Center. She was a 20-year member of North Whidbey Rotary, where she was honored as a Soroptimist Woman of Distinction and was a five-time Paul Harris Fellow. Sande was also a member of Oak Harbor Lutheran Church.Sande inherited a love of sewing and gardening from her maternal family. She enjoyed filling her homes with flowers, music, and literature; collecting and selling antiques were also a passion, which required large barns for storage. Over the years, she shared her life and home with dogs, dogs, dogs, dogs, and more dogs, as well as one pesky parakeet and one cranky cat.Sande is survived by her daughters, Ann Michelle Harrison McAllister of San Diego, CA and Jeane Marie Harrison Tierney of Harvest, AL; sister Michelle McKenzie-Voigt of Evanston, IL; nephew Christopher Voigt (Adrienne Chudzinski) and family of Fairfield, CA; and sister-in-law Susan Mulkey of Boise, ID. She was predeceased by husband Donald Roy Mulkey, infant daughter Jan Lanelle Harrison, brother-in-law Don Voigt, sons-in-law Mike McAllister and Chris Tierney, and her parents.Private inurnment at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
