Sandra Jean Main

Sandra J. “Sandy” Main, age 77, passed away on March 13, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her husband and family.

Born on August 26, 1948, in Galion, Ohio, Sandy was the daughter of the late Willie and Bonnie (Miller) Dameron. She graduated from Galion High School and on October 11, 1968, married her soulmate, Arthur H. Main. The couple shared 57 loving years together.

Sandy’s life was rooted in love for her family, her community, and the simple joys that filled her days. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, attending their activities, sharing laughter, and simply being present in their lives. Her grandchildren were a constant source of pride and happiness. For many years she served as a devoted teacher’s aide at Whetstone School, where her kindness, patience, and gentle encouragement touched the lives of countless students and staff. In her free time she enjoyed traveling to Amish communities, browsing their shops and discovering unique treasures. A woman of many talents, Sandy approached every new hobby with curiosity and determination, mastering each one before moving on to the next. She also took great pleasure in sharing good food and good company, especially enjoying meals from House of Hunan.

Above all, Sandy will be remembered for the warmth and love she gave so freely. Her presence brought laughter and happiness, and her devotion to her family created memories that will be cherished forever.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Arthur H. Main; daughter, Dawn (Dan) Brugmann; grandchildren, Ericsson Willoughby and Kierra Main; daughter-in-law, Kara Maynard; siblings, Terry, Lou, and Bonnie; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott H. Main, and siblings, Gloria, William, and Winona.
