Sandra Jean "Sandy" Corcoran

Sandra Jean “Sandy” Corcoran, 69, of Lakewood, New York, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at her daughter Stephanie’s home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 10, 1956, in Jamestown, New York, to the late Clarence and Betty Jean Veitz Corcoran, Sandy graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1974. She found joy in crafting, playing bingo, watching game shows and soap operas, baking, cooking, and collecting jewelry. She looked forward to her trips to Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino and Niagara Falls, Canada.

Above all, Sandy cherished her family. She delighted in spending time with them, especially her beloved grandsons, of whom she was enormously proud. Christmas Eve gatherings were her favorite time of year. For nearly thirty years she faced multiple sclerosis with quiet strength. She also adored her fur grandbabies, Stan, Kenny, and Bebe.

Sandy is survived by her longtime companion of 28 years, Angelo Rivera of Lakewood; her daughter, Stephanie (Christopher) Miraglia of Jamestown; grandsons Alec Overfield and Kyle Miraglia of Jamestown; her brother, Larry (Donna) Poole of Terre Haute, Indiana; her aunt, Judy Veitz (Renee Gravelle) of Cheektowaga, New York; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Corcoran.
