Sandra "Sandy" Hanshew

RURAL RETREAT, VASandra Jones “Sandy” Hanshew, age 69, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Valley Healthcare Center in Chilhowie, VA. Sandy was born in Bunn, NC to the late Elvertis & Blonnie Hopkins Jones. She is also preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bobby” Hanshew, Jr.; brother, Nelson Jones; and sisters, Shirley Purkerson and Audrey Chavez. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Quillen; grandchildren, Mark Quillen, Allison McVey, Scott McVey, and Katie McVey; son-in-law, John Quillen & wife Suzy; beloved great granddaughter, Malina; sister, Brenda Burgess; along with several nieces, nephews, love grandchildren, and a special friend Joann Phillips. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Zion Church Cemetery in Nebo with Pastor Mike Sage officiating.
